January 2007

Christmas is Universal.
"Behold, I proclaim to you
good news of great joy that will be for all the people…A Savior has been
born for you" (Luke 1:10-11).
Christ the Savior becomes man precisely for all who share human nature. He
excludes nobody. The good news of Christmas is for all people of all times and
places. "Joy to the world."
In fact, so universal is this joy, that even nature shares in it: "Then
the wolf shall be a guest of the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the
kid; the calf and the young lion shall browse together, with a little child to
guide them" (Isaiah 11:6).
All of this leads to an inescapable conclusion: Christmas is also for the
unborn. The Savior has come also for the children yet living in their mothers'
wombs. The Gospel message is addressed also to our youngest brothers and
sisters.
In fact, we can say it is addressed especially to them, because they are the
most helpless.
That good news was announced first precisely to the lowly, not to the great
and powerful. The ministry of the One who was born for us continued to follow
that pattern: He consistently sought out those who were on the outskirts of
society.
His Church does the same today, taking a preferential option for the poor. The
"poor" are not simply those deprived of material goods. "This
preferential option for the poor and vulnerable includes all who are
marginalized in our nation and beyond - unborn children, persons with
disabilities, the elderly and terminally ill, and victims of injustice and
oppression" (US Bishops, Faithful Citizenship, 2007).
To welcome the Savior means to welcome the obligations which His mission
places on us. He is, in the words of the Prophets, one who will establish
"justice" on the earth. In Biblical terms, this indicates He will
intervene for the helpless, bringing deliverance to those held in bondage.
That's all of us, of course, subject to the bondage of sin and death, unable
to save ourselves.
But it's especially our brothers and sisters in the womb, subject to the
additional bondage of a Court decision that said, "The word person...does
not include the unborn." (Roe vs. Wade, 1973).
In the beautiful Christmas hymn, "O Holy Night," we sing these
words. "Truly He taught us to love one another; His law is love, and His
Gospel is Peace. Chains shall he break, for the slave is our brother, and in
His Name all oppression shall cease."
Pope Benedict XVI has taught that "love for widows and orphans,
prisoners, and the sick and needy of every kind, is as essential to [the
Church] as the ministry of the sacraments and preaching of the Gospel"
(Deus Caritas Est, no. 22). Our Christmas cannot be complete until we join in
the great effort to end the oppression of the unborn once and for all, and let
them hear that for them, too, a Savior has been born.

Praying for
Aborted Babies
Fr.
Frank Pavone
National Director, Priests for Life
One of the most common questions I receive is, "What happens to aborted
babies? Do they go to heaven? Should we pray for them?"
Pope
John Paul II, in The Gospel of Life, speaks directly to those who have
had abortions, and tells them, "To the same Father and to his mercy you
can with sure hope entrust your child" (n. 99).
The
child, in other words, continues to live, and the mother continues to care for
that child by "entrusting" him or her to the Father. God takes care
of the children he has created, including those who have been killed.
Therefore, we entrust these children to Him "with sure hope."
This
"hope" means that we acknowledge that God wants everyone to be
saved. He saves different people in different ways. The ordinary way of
salvation is through the sacrament of Baptism, which gives us the new life
that is necessary for reaching heaven. If a person, however, is prevented,
through no fault of their own, from receiving the sacrament, that does not
mean that God cannot give them that new life by different means. How,
precisely, he does this, we do not know. He has not given us the answer to
every question. But he has assured us - and in fact he commands us - that we
are to trust in his mercy, and entrust each other, including aborted children,
to his mercy.
The
International Theological Commission, which is an advisory panel to the
Vatican, issued a document in April of 2007 entitled "The Hope of
Salvation for Infants Who Die Without Being Baptized," and Pope Benedict
XVI authorized its publication. This document emphasized the "grounds for
hope that unbaptized infants who die will be saved and enjoy the beatific
vision." The document recalled Christ's special love for "the little
ones," and acknowledged that the question of what happens to unbaptized
infants is intensified in an age when so many die from abortion. In fact, the
document pointed out the solidarity with Christ among infant victims of
violence, born and unborn, who like the holy innocents killed by King Herod
are endangered by the "fear or selfishness of others."
Having made these points, however, the document adds, "We emphasize that
these are reasons for prayerful hope, rather than grounds for sure
knowledge."
So
then, we should hope and pray.
The month of November, dedicated to all the faithful departed, is an excellent
time to intensify our prayers for all children who have been aborted. In fact,
just as we request a Mass to be offered for a deceased relative by name, we
can likewise request a Mass to be offered when that deceased relative is a
child killed by abortion. Many of these children have been given names, and
their names can be given when the Mass is requested, without having to say
that they died from abortion.
"Lord, give eternal rest to all aborted children, and grant that they may
run and play in the playgrounds of heaven."
Planned
Parenthood's Bulletproof Glass
by Jill Stanek
I've always
thought that portrayals by pro-aborts of pro-lifers as violent abortion mill
stalkers must hurt their recruitment drives for abortion mill workers. One
reason for the shortage of abortionists has to be that the industry has
conditioned the ignorant among them, which, come to think of it, is all of
them, to be fearful of us.
But this past month the "pro-lifers are violent!" accusations have been ricocheting off the abortion industry's bulletproof glass back at it so wildly even I feel like ducking.
For those who don't know, Planned Parenthood recently built its largest U.S. mill to date in Aurora, Ill., using stealth and deception. It created a front company, Gemini Office Development (G.O.D.), to hide behind so no one knew the $7.5 million, 22,000 square foot medical facility being built was an abortuary until it was almost completed.
But for this PP has paid a heavy price, not the least of which was finally being hoisted by its "pro-lifers are violent" petard.
How many gazillion times have we heard that line, a key talking point abortion linchpins devised decades ago to indict hundreds of millions of pro-lifers for the .0001 percent who opt for vigilante justice.
In actuality, the pro-life movement is the most peaceful social justice movement in American history. Consider that on any given day hundreds of pickets and prayer vigils are being held in front of 1,000 or so abortion mills throughout the U.S. with no incidents other than pro-aborts trying to run us over or destroy our signs.
But, hey, it's a label I've never minded. So what if the other side thinks I'm liable to draw out my six-shooter if they look at me funny? I would find that power amusing if I knew the ringleaders of the movement really thought that, which they don't.
In reality they know we're harmless as houseflies. But we're pesky as horseflies, which is the aggravant. Too proud to admit we're simply annoying, they hurl the respectable charge, "violent!"
Which brings me to three observations from the Aurora spectacle.
One, Planned Parenthood's aversion to us just provoked it to pull the biggest PR blunder in its history. PP executives thought they would outsmart us by going covert. But they didn't anticipate getting caught with their pants down, which caused them a national scandal.
Two, to reinforce the "pro-lifers are violent" brand, PP built a fortress in Aurora with a security system worthy of Danny Ocean, complete with bulletproof windows, doors and walls, and maybe even snipers on the roof.
But in an ironic twist, this backfired. As one of PP Aurora's new neighbors testified at a City Council meeting:
Whether the danger is real or not is really not material. PP clearly thought that the risk of gunfire was high enough that they took steps … to protect themselves against it. At the same time they apparently decided the risk of gunfire wasn't high enough to alert their neighbors of this possibility. How very convenient. I believe this decision was not theirs to make. That decision was ours to make.
What a brilliant turn, putting PP in a Catch-22. Quickly this thought spread and began to annoy pro-aborts. Well, touché, my enemies. Complained the PP Aurora blogger:
It is really creepy how anti-choice bloggers are fixated on the bulletproof glass in our health center. If you search Google's blogsearch for "planned parenthood" and "bulletproof glass" there's over 50 self-righteous blog posts accusing us of "hiding behind" this glass.
I'm shocked. The charge of cowardice is new to these people?
Three, when riled pro-lifers took to the streets and City Council meetings, they outnumbered abortion supporters by an embarrassing 1,000:1 ratio. The PP Aurora blogger finally had to address the lopsided display of support:
I have heard from friends, read your comments & blogs. Why weren't there more pro-choice voices at recent City Council meetings? Why did supporters leave meetings early? It is my belief that the history of clinic violence keeps some silent. The fact that the anti-choice leaders picket clinic workers homes keeps us silent.
And …
Fear is a powerful tool. Even if not one more act of violence occurs outside or inside a women's health care clinic, that fear will remain. …
The truth is it must be hard to muster excitement to sacrifice an evening or Saturday supporting sacrificing children. It's much easier to spout clichés back and forth on the Internet. But whatever. I'll take credit. And if pro-lifers really do intimidate pro-aborts, great.

Dumpsters,
Bridges, and ChildrenFr.
Frank Pavone
National Director, Priests for Life
Some
years ago, a phone call came into a Milwaukee police department. Children were
throwing stones off of a bridge, the officer was told. When police arrived at
the scene, they asked the children what they were throwing. The reply came, "Little
people."
These
children had discovered small grey containers that held the remains of aborted
children. The containers had been thrown in the trash of a nearby abortion
mill. "Little people" had become playthings, because the law taught
the slightly older children well. What is disposable, after all, can also be
used for play. Yet the children had not lost their straightforward honesty,
and ability to call things by their names. These aborted babies were people.
My
friend Monica Migliorino Miller, a professor, author, and pro-life activist,
is also straightforward and honest. She writes of one of the times that she
and other activists went to retrieve the bodies of some of our aborted
brothers and sisters in Chicago. This effort eventually led to a burial
service conducted by the Archdiocese of Chicago. Monica writes,
"When
we pulled our cars slowly into the dark alley behind the Michigan Avenue
Medical Center, rats scurried before our headlights, frightened by the noise
of our intrusion. Our three-vehicle caravan parked in the alley off Monroe
Street in downtown Chicago. We stopped in front of a loading dock upon which
stood three garbage dumpsters and a filthy blue-colored trash barrel. ...We
climbed onto the loading dock, opened the dumpsters, and began to search
through the trash. I opened a red dumpster ... At the very bottom was a small,
heavy cardboard box. It was about the size of two shoe boxes and was sealed in
silver duct tape. I carefully cradled the box in my arms and placed it in the
back seat of one of the cars. ...
"We
drove to Joe Scheidler's garage to examine the contents of the box, first
setting it on a table beneath a bright light. We all gathered around the table
as Peter carefully peeled off the silver duct tape and opened the flaps of the
box. Inside were small plastic "specimen" bags. Each bag contained
the remains of an aborted baby with placenta and uterine tissue. We took the
bags out and laid them on the table. There were forty-three of them in all
which represented about three or four days worth of abortions at the Michigan
Avenue Medical Center.
"Several
bags were marked with the name of the aborted baby's mother, her age, the
gestational age of the fetal child, the date of the abortion and a number.
...Despite the small size of the fetal remains, their tiny arms, legs, hands,
feet, rib cages, spinal columns, eyes (floating free out of their sockets),
bits of skull tissue and sometimes even an intact face were plainly visible
through the plastic windows of the specimen bags."
Sometimes it takes dumpsters, bridges, and children to wake us up to the reality of what the "choice" of "abortion" really is.

It's rarely discussed, but abortion profoundly
affects millions of men. Learn about a powerful talk by a father who lives
with the life-long impact of having been involved in the abortion of two of
his unborn children.

excerpt:
His father
was a 14-year-old violinist who was forced to play music for the Nazi soldiers
who marched his family to their death in the gas chambers. His father later
found safety in New York City, yet named his Jewish child "Christoper
Joseph" to protect him from another Holocaust.
Thus begins the story of Chris Aubert, a successful lawyer, husband, father of
five, and exceptional speaker who courageously shares a compelling, tragic,
yet enlightening story of his participation during his twenties in what would
later haunt him as his own holocaust experience: the abortion-induced death of
two of his own unborn children.

Social Security Act Social Services Block Grant (Title XX)
Social Security Act Maternal and Child Services Block Grant (Title V)
$28
million increase for Title X. This is the third-largest increase in the
program's history and the first increase in six years. This increase will
result in an estimated $7 million more dollars going to Planned
Parenthood.
Creation
of Teen Pregnancy Prevention grants — a new $10 million funding stream
to support factually and medically accurate approaches to prevent teen
pregnancy. These programs result in an increase in Planned Parenthood’s
customer base.
$99
million increase for the Ryan White AIDS/HIV prevention programs. Planned
Parenthood uses these programs to get more money for AIDS testing.
$200
million increase for Community Health Centers. This extra funding will
allow an additional one million uninsured people to be served at one of
these centers. This means more customers in Planned Parenthood facilities.
$57
million increase for Maternal and Child Health Block Grants. Again, more
money for Planned Parenthood.
$18
million increase for the Healthy Start program. Planned Parenthood
infiltrates these programs pushing its philosophies.
$59
million increase for the Vaccines for Children program, which includes
funding for the HPV vaccine, which can prevent the virus that causes
cervical cancer. As the article in our May-June issue of Celebrate Life
magazine shows, this whole HPV vaccine story fits in with Planned
Parenthood’s long-term goals.
What
you can do
Sincerely yours in the Lord Who IS Life,
Judie Brown, President
Should
YOU
be forced to underwrite Planned Parenthood with your tax dollars?
·
Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion chain
in America and has killed more than 3 million innocent
children at its facilities
·
Planned Parenthood's top goal for the next 25 years is
to push its agenda of promiscuous sex everywhere in
our society
·
Planned Parenthood puts minors on birth control
without parents' knowledge or involvement
·
Planned Parenthood has demonstrated a willingness to cover
up for rapists and child predators
·
Planned Parenthood pushes pornography onto children
with shocking and offensive websites, books, and literature
·
Planned Parenthood is openly hostile to Christianity,
and regularly mocks people of faith
·
Planned Parenthood hurts women with
misleading and dishonest medical information
·
And Planned Parenthood does all of this with over $305.3
million dollars a year of your tax money
Millions
of Americans are fed up with this insanity! Take a stand and tell your
elected officials that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! We, the undersigned, ask all
elected officials to ensure that Planned Parenthood receives
absolutely no taxpayer dollars.

There was
quite a hubbub made over the recent passing of the "godfather of
soul," James Brown, whose claim to fame was his screaming and jumping
around on stage as though he were imitating a pelican on methadone. Even
Michael Jackson credited him with his being where he is today. Hmmm … best
we skip over that one.
The media, of
course, was all aglow with reverent remarks about Brown, talking about him
as though he had been a musical genius and a wonderful role model. None
other than conservative "Fox & Friends" pointed out that Brown
was credited with "inspiring rap, hip-hop and funk." Boy, wouldn't
your mom have been proud of you if you had inspired rap, hip-hop and funk?
All this media
gushing brought back memories of the Platters' monster 1950s classic
"The Great Pretender," because the Western world has, in fact,
become the land of The Great Pretenders. As a result of white guilt (see my
Oct. 26, 2006 article, "Condi's 'white guilt'") coupled with
gradualism, we have willingly become participants in a civilization-ending
game known as "Let's Pretend."
In his book
"The Master Game," Robert DeRopp expresses his belief that man
inhabits a world of delusions, which obscures reality and creates dangers
for himself and others. He rarely understands what he is doing or why he is
doing it. His actions and beliefs indicate that he lives in a state of
waking dreams. As a result, people willingly join the ranks of The Great
Pretenders.
The sad truth
is that we have been lobotomized by our schools, our government and the
media – which is why we give in to perversion and insanity without even
putting up a fight. Get out of line and start babbling about Western
virtues, and you risk being reviled by friends and foes alike.
As The Great
Pretenders, our willingness to play Let's Pretend knows no bounds …
We pretend
that humanitarian awards such as the Nobel Peace Prize are serious
attempts to single out the most righteous among us – peaceful,
honorable men such as past winners Yasser Arafat,
Kofi Annan and Jimmy Carter. In today's world, it's understandable that
two felons like Yasser and Kofi would be applauded by the global
communists. But Jimmy Carter? I guess it says a lot for the strategy of
using props like bib overalls, a hammer and poor folks when having your
picture taken.
We pretend
that the war on illegal immigration will
somehow be won. By golly, we'll threaten to build a wall on our southern
border to keep the nasty banditos out. Of course, the project will drag
on for years and probably never be completed, but it's sure to be a
windfall for government-favored contractors. Even more important, it
will make politicians look like they're actually getting tough on
illegal immigration.
We pretend
that we can get North Korea and
Iran to toe the line by threatening them with "sanctions."
After all, anyone can see how much this scares Mahmoud and Kimmy. Why,
Condi herself recently said that if North Korea conducts another nuclear
test, it will "further isolate itself from the rest of the
world." Her stern remarks shook Kimmy up so much that he reportedly
spilled a glass of Scotch while watching his favorite porn film.
We pretend
that nasty, agenda-driven media people are serious journalists whose aim
it is to report the news in an unbiased manner. Take Dan Rather, for
example. We tried so hard to pretend that he is a well-meaning
journalist who slipped up by not checking out the forged documents on
George Bush's military service. Even Bill O'Reilly insisted that he
didn't believe for a second that Rather knew the documents were forged. Knew
they were forged? How about the likelihood that he actually planned
the whole thing (a la Richard Nixon and Watergate)?
We pretend
that when politicians babble about "reform" bills, they are
seriously interested in making things better for us. In our state of
waking dreams, we ignore the reality that ethics reform always results
in more unethical congressional behavior; that immigration reform
results in making it easier for foreigners to enter the U.S.
illegally and permanently; and that tax reform results in the working
class paying higher taxes.
And, of
course, the favorite of The Great Pretenders: We pretend that diversity
is our greatest strength rather than acknowledging it as our greatest
weakness. Cultural diversity makes us strong, right? All it takes is a
daily dose of "We Are the World" and we become believers. If
we don't pretend to support the multicultural party line, we run the
risk of being sent to a rehabilitation camp at UC Berkeley or Yale.
The late
Andrew Galambos, the free-market cult figure whom Harry Browne dubbed
"the unknown libertarian," was purported to have taught those who
attended his lectures that almost everything everybody believes is wrong.
And when we observe what passes for reality in today's let's-pretend world,
his observation doesn't seem that farfetched.
When aliens
examine the ruins of Western civilization a thousand years from now, they
will almost certainly come to the conclusion that its demise was brought
about by the evolution of the civilized Western Homo sapiens into a mushy
species known as The Great Pretenders.
In
unison now, let's hear it: War is peace; freedom is slavery; ignorance is
strength. -- Robert Ringer

From Conception, Babies Are A "Precious Gift"!
On The Wire... We're not in Kansas anymore, Toto! Common sense does not seem to apply here. Well, death-mongering rapist defenders may be pushing all the cash-buttons... buying their way, but will they be calling the shots in the end, or will the law prevail? Phill Kline is walking tall.
By Bob Unruh © 2006 WorldNetDaily.com
Kansas
Attorney General Phill Kline believes that it is his job to see that the laws
are followed, but he ran into a brick wall when he concluded the laws that
apply to the abortion industry, such as reporting an assault when a
10-year-old has an abortion, ALSO must be upheld.
He
soon found out why: hundreds of millions of dollars that American taxpayers
each year turn over to Planned Parenthood, a leading provider in the abortion
industry.
When he was elected in 2002, he noticed a peculiarity of laws in most states
and jurisdictions.
In
court, he sought the redacted clinic records from 90 abortion cases across the
state.
The match up has
Kline highlighting Morrison's authorship (of) a bill that shortened paroles
and released prison inmates early, and citing a Kansas Department of
Corrections memo explaining that the bill allowed 800 criminals to be released
early and thousands more have their paroles shortened. More than 1,500 have
since revisited Kansas' court system, "and those are just the ones we
caught," Kline said.
Absolutely true
that he wanted medical records, Kline told WND. Absolutely false that he was
seeking medical records that are identifiable to a particular individual. He
said he just wants records that can be inspected to determine whether a
"medical provider" at an abortion clinic is, in fact, following the
state's various laws, just like many other cases.
An Ohio woman,
Jennifer Jiroux, who works with Citizens for Community Values, told WND the
nation needs more prosecutors like Kline. She cited as an example a recent
case in which a 12-year-old was taken to an abortion clinic after an assault
by a soccer coach, an assault that wasn’t uncovered until some teachers
overheard school children teasing the 12-year-old.
How Kline got
the steamroller going was simple in Kansas. It's a commonly used procedure in
which prosecutors have a proceeding in front of a judge, and the judge reviews
evidence and can issue search warrants or compel witnesses to appear.
However, the
clinics made a motion with the court to make the investigation public and
asked permission to contact "patients."
The ultimate
result of the appeals process affirmed Kline's request, and there have been a
number of convictions as a result.
Kline said that
avoided the state requirement that PAC reports must be filed within 10 days.
The money was used for a massive radio campaign criticizing Kline, he said.
One supporter of
the organization noted that Kansas current governor, Kathleen Sebelius,
"is pro abortion to the max and has done everything she can, including
stripping funds from the A.G. office to a minimum, to deem him
ineffective."
