Christmas is Universal.

"Behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people…A Savior has been born for you" (Luke 1:10-11).

Christ the Savior becomes man precisely for all who share human nature. He excludes nobody. The good news of Christmas is for all people of all times and places. "Joy to the world."

In fact, so universal is this joy, that even nature shares in it: "Then the wolf shall be a guest of the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; the calf and the young lion shall browse together, with a little child to guide them" (Isaiah 11:6).

All of this leads to an inescapable conclusion: Christmas is also for the unborn. The Savior has come also for the children yet living in their mothers' wombs. The Gospel message is addressed also to our youngest brothers and sisters.

In fact, we can say it is addressed especially to them, because they are the most helpless.

That good news was announced first precisely to the lowly, not to the great and powerful. The ministry of the One who was born for us continued to follow that pattern: He consistently sought out those who were on the outskirts of society.

His Church does the same today, taking a preferential option for the poor. The "poor" are not simply those deprived of material goods. "This preferential option for the poor and vulnerable includes all who are marginalized in our nation and beyond - unborn children, persons with disabilities, the elderly and terminally ill, and victims of injustice and oppression" (US Bishops, Faithful Citizenship, 2007).

To welcome the Savior means to welcome the obligations which His mission places on us. He is, in the words of the Prophets, one who will establish "justice" on the earth. In Biblical terms, this indicates He will intervene for the helpless, bringing deliverance to those held in bondage.

That's all of us, of course, subject to the bondage of sin and death, unable to save ourselves.

But it's especially our brothers and sisters in the womb, subject to the additional bondage of a Court decision that said, "The word person...does not include the unborn." (Roe vs. Wade, 1973).

In the beautiful Christmas hymn, "O Holy Night," we sing these words. "Truly He taught us to love one another; His law is love, and His Gospel is Peace. Chains shall he break, for the slave is our brother, and in His Name all oppression shall cease."

Pope Benedict XVI has taught that "love for widows and orphans, prisoners, and the sick and needy of every kind, is as essential to [the Church] as the ministry of the sacraments and preaching of the Gospel" (Deus Caritas Est, no. 22). Our Christmas cannot be complete until we join in the great effort to end the oppression of the unborn once and for all, and let them hear that for them, too, a Savior has been born.

On The Wire... The British recognize the abortion breast-cancer, (A=B-C) link. What about the good old U.S. of A. ??? -- Joe

NAILING THE TRUTH: ABORTION AS BEST PREDICTOR OF BREAST CANCER

by

Eve Sanchez Silver, Medical Research Analyst , Executive Director of Clear Research Phone: 732.213.3954    and

Lolita Hanks, RN, BSN, FNP-C, Director and Secretary of Colorado Right to Life Phone: 303.753.9394

The ghoulish fact of abortion as the number one predictor of breast cancer, and predictable entirely within safe margins of error, must have nay-saying cancer organizations shaking in their boots. While the United States and France are known to understate the number of legal abortion cases, says world famous British researcher Patrick Carroll: "Using national cancer registration data for female breast cancer incidence in eight European countries—England & Wales, Scotland,   Northern Ireland, the Irish Republic, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Finland, and Denmark—for which there is also comprehensive data on abortion incidence ... The countries considered in this study are believed to have nearly complete official abortion counts."   Carroll got essentially dead-on numbers of abortion-breast cancer predictions over an eight year span from 1997 - 2004. (Get an instant download of Carroll's study at: http://www.jpands.org/vol12no3/carroll.pdf  -- Carroll, P. The breast cancer epidemic: modeling and forecasts based on abortion and other risk factors." J Am Phys Surg Vol. 12, No. 3 (Fall 2007) 72-78. ). "The well-researched physiological pathways of the Abortion-Breast Cancer link have been denied by cancer organizations for years. Carroll's study however leaves no further wiggle room for the controversial breast-cancer-funding organizations like the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation which donates millions of 'Race For the Cure' dollars to Planned Parenthood which leads the world's abortion industry.

"Komen officials state their mantra time and again: They only fund breast services at Planned Parenthood clinics in under-served communities. But Komen leaves out the fact that breast services at Planned Parenthood have gone DOWN and with that Komen money in their pockets, abortion services have gone UP," says Medical Research Analyst Eve Sanchez Silver, Executive Director of Clear Research, an organization that analyzes breast cancer research goals and minority health information disparities. "Also from age 11 to 20 women do not need breast exams and mammography, and that is the majority of Planned Parenthood's clientele" says Silver (statistics American Life League).

Director and Secretary of Colorado Right to Life, Lolita Hanks, RN, BSN, FNP-C says, "The American Cancer Society took fifty years to acknowledge solid research proving that smoking actually caused lung cancer, now the American Cancer Society is giving its money to Planned Parenthood for smoking cessation programs, ignoring the fact that Planned Parenthood is all about aborting people," says Hanks, "How many years will it take to report now on abortion as the prime predictor of breast cancer? The American Cancer Society has a medical and ethical responsibility to their fund-raising community to inform them on how to prevent abortion related breast cancer, which is preventable, unlike so many other cancers and forms of breast cancer. How many people have to suffer and die. How many children will be left motherless as we wait for them to speak out?" says Hanks.

"Women should be outraged that they are actively being lied to in so many ways by these cancer organizations who claim concern for them but ignore the dangers of Planned Parenthood,"says Hanks."Planned Parenthood's new Plan B is 40 times stronger than the usual, run of the mill but life-threatening steroidal birth control pills," says Hanks, "and we have no long term data available yet on Plan B". More Plan B and more abortion-breast cancer will soon flip the statistics of women outliving men," says Hanks. "Neither oncologists nor the rest of the healthcare system tells people the truth about abortion. Will they fess up now?"

Eve Sanchez Silver agrees. "Planned Parenthood and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation must sever their relationship: they have a definite conflict of interest," says Silver. She is concerned as well for the effect of the abortion-breast cancer link on minority women: "Black women have far more aggressive breast cancer with poorer outcomes and treatment options," says Silver. "Eighty percent of all Planned Parenthood abortuaries are in low-income neighborhoods. Many people of color are nailing the truth about the A-BC link and taking back their neighborhoods," says Silver, "This breaking news will make a difference to many people contemplating abortion. The simple truth is that abortion is now known to be the best predictor of abortion related breast cancer in the world."

On The Wire ... What happens to aborted babies?

   Praying for Aborted Babies

Fr. Frank Pavone
National Director, Priests for Life

One of the most common questions I receive is, "What happens to aborted babies? Do they go to heaven? Should we pray for them?"

Pope John Paul II, in The Gospel of Life, speaks directly to those who have had abortions, and tells them, "To the same Father and to his mercy you can with sure hope entrust your child" (n. 99).

The child, in other words, continues to live, and the mother continues to care for that child by "entrusting" him or her to the Father. God takes care of the children he has created, including those who have been killed. Therefore, we entrust these children to Him "with sure hope."

This "hope" means that we acknowledge that God wants everyone to be saved. He saves different people in different ways. The ordinary way of salvation is through the sacrament of Baptism, which gives us the new life that is necessary for reaching heaven. If a person, however, is prevented, through no fault of their own, from receiving the sacrament, that does not mean that God cannot give them that new life by different means. How, precisely, he does this, we do not know. He has not given us the answer to every question. But he has assured us - and in fact he commands us - that we are to trust in his mercy, and entrust each other, including aborted children, to his mercy.

The International Theological Commission, which is an advisory panel to the Vatican, issued a document in April of 2007 entitled "The Hope of Salvation for Infants Who Die Without Being Baptized," and Pope Benedict XVI authorized its publication. This document emphasized the "grounds for hope that unbaptized infants who die will be saved and enjoy the beatific vision." The document recalled Christ's special love for "the little ones," and acknowledged that the question of what happens to unbaptized infants is intensified in an age when so many die from abortion. In fact, the document pointed out the solidarity with Christ among infant victims of violence, born and unborn, who like the holy innocents killed by King Herod are endangered by the "fear or selfishness of others."

Having made these points, however, the document adds, "We emphasize that these are reasons for prayerful hope, rather than grounds for sure knowledge."

So then, we should hope and pray.

The month of November, dedicated to all the faithful departed, is an excellent time to intensify our prayers for all children who have been aborted. In fact, just as we request a Mass to be offered for a deceased relative by name, we can likewise request a Mass to be offered when that deceased relative is a child killed by abortion. Many of these children have been given names, and their names can be given when the Mass is requested, without having to say that they died from abortion.

"Lord, give eternal rest to all aborted children, and grant that they may run and play in the playgrounds of heaven."

Planned Parenthood's Bulletproof Glass

WND Exclusive Commentary

by Jill Stanek

I've always thought that portrayals by pro-aborts of pro-lifers as violent abortion mill stalkers must hurt their recruitment drives for abortion mill workers. One reason for the shortage of abortionists has to be that the industry has conditioned the ignorant among them, which, come to think of it, is all of them, to be fearful of us.

But this past month the "pro-lifers are violent!" accusations have been ricocheting off the abortion industry's bulletproof glass back at it so wildly even I feel like ducking.

For those who don't know, Planned Parenthood recently built its largest U.S. mill to date in Aurora, Ill., using stealth and deception. It created a front company, Gemini Office Development (G.O.D.), to hide behind so no one knew the $7.5 million, 22,000 square foot medical facility being built was an abortuary until it was almost completed.

But for this PP has paid a heavy price, not the least of which was finally being hoisted by its "pro-lifers are violent" petard.

How many gazillion times have we heard that line, a key talking point abortion linchpins devised decades ago to indict hundreds of millions of pro-lifers for the .0001 percent who opt for vigilante justice.

In actuality, the pro-life movement is the most peaceful social justice movement in American history. Consider that on any given day hundreds of pickets and prayer vigils are being held in front of 1,000 or so abortion mills throughout the U.S. with no incidents other than pro-aborts trying to run us over or destroy our signs.

But, hey, it's a label I've never minded. So what if the other side thinks I'm liable to draw out my six-shooter if they look at me funny? I would find that power amusing if I knew the ringleaders of the movement really thought that, which they don't.

In reality they know we're harmless as houseflies. But we're pesky as horseflies, which is the aggravant. Too proud to admit we're simply annoying, they hurl the respectable charge, "violent!"

Which brings me to three observations from the Aurora spectacle.

One, Planned Parenthood's aversion to us just provoked it to pull the biggest PR blunder in its history. PP executives thought they would outsmart us by going covert. But they didn't anticipate getting caught with their pants down, which caused them a national scandal.

Two, to reinforce the "pro-lifers are violent" brand, PP built a fortress in Aurora with a security system worthy of Danny Ocean, complete with bulletproof windows, doors and walls, and maybe even snipers on the roof.

But in an ironic twist, this backfired. As one of PP Aurora's new neighbors testified at a City Council meeting:

Whether the danger is real or not is really not material. PP clearly thought that the risk of gunfire was high enough that they took steps … to protect themselves against it. At the same time they apparently decided the risk of gunfire wasn't high enough to alert their neighbors of this possibility. How very convenient. I believe this decision was not theirs to make. That decision was ours to make.

What a brilliant turn, putting PP in a Catch-22. Quickly this thought spread and began to annoy pro-aborts. Well, touché, my enemies. Complained the PP Aurora blogger:

It is really creepy how anti-choice bloggers are fixated on the bulletproof glass in our health center. If you search Google's blogsearch for "planned parenthood" and "bulletproof glass" there's over 50 self-righteous blog posts accusing us of "hiding behind" this glass.

I'm shocked. The charge of cowardice is new to these people?

Three, when riled pro-lifers took to the streets and City Council meetings, they outnumbered abortion supporters by an embarrassing 1,000:1 ratio. The PP Aurora blogger finally had to address the lopsided display of support:

I have heard from friends, read your comments & blogs. Why weren't there more pro-choice voices at recent City Council meetings? Why did supporters leave meetings early? It is my belief that the history of clinic violence keeps some silent. The fact that the anti-choice leaders picket clinic workers homes keeps us silent.

And …

Fear is a powerful tool. Even if not one more act of violence occurs outside or inside a women's health care clinic, that fear will remain. …

The truth is it must be hard to muster excitement to sacrifice an evening or Saturday supporting sacrificing children. It's much easier to spout clichés back and forth on the Internet. But whatever. I'll take credit. And if pro-lifers really do intimidate pro-aborts, great.

   Dumpsters, Bridges, and Children

Fr. Frank Pavone
National Director, Priests for Life

Some years ago, a phone call came into a Milwaukee police department. Children were throwing stones off of a bridge, the officer was told. When police arrived at the scene, they asked the children what they were throwing. The reply came, "Little people."

These children had discovered small grey containers that held the remains of aborted children. The containers had been thrown in the trash of a nearby abortion mill. "Little people" had become playthings, because the law taught the slightly older children well. What is disposable, after all, can also be used for play. Yet the children had not lost their straightforward honesty, and ability to call things by their names. These aborted babies were people.

My friend Monica Migliorino Miller, a professor, author, and pro-life activist, is also straightforward and honest. She writes of one of the times that she and other activists went to retrieve the bodies of some of our aborted brothers and sisters in Chicago. This effort eventually led to a burial service conducted by the Archdiocese of Chicago. Monica writes,

"When we pulled our cars slowly into the dark alley behind the Michigan Avenue Medical Center, rats scurried before our headlights, frightened by the noise of our intrusion. Our three-vehicle caravan parked in the alley off Monroe Street in downtown Chicago. We stopped in front of a loading dock upon which stood three garbage dumpsters and a filthy blue-colored trash barrel. ...We climbed onto the loading dock, opened the dumpsters, and began to search through the trash. I opened a red dumpster ... At the very bottom was a small, heavy cardboard box. It was about the size of two shoe boxes and was sealed in silver duct tape. I carefully cradled the box in my arms and placed it in the back seat of one of the cars. ...

"We drove to Joe Scheidler's garage to examine the contents of the box, first setting it on a table beneath a bright light. We all gathered around the table as Peter carefully peeled off the silver duct tape and opened the flaps of the box. Inside were small plastic "specimen" bags. Each bag contained the remains of an aborted baby with placenta and uterine tissue. We took the bags out and laid them on the table. There were forty-three of them in all which represented about three or four days worth of abortions at the Michigan Avenue Medical Center.

"Several bags were marked with the name of the aborted baby's mother, her age, the gestational age of the fetal child, the date of the abortion and a number. ...Despite the small size of the fetal remains, their tiny arms, legs, hands, feet, rib cages, spinal columns, eyes (floating free out of their sockets), bits of skull tissue and sometimes even an intact face were plainly visible through the plastic windows of the specimen bags."

Sometimes it takes dumpsters, bridges, and children to wake us up to the reality of what the "choice" of "abortion" really is.

It's rarely discussed, but abortion profoundly affects millions of men. Learn about a powerful talk by a father who lives with the life-long impact of having been involved in the abortion of two of his unborn children.

Please read the full text message.

excerpt:

His father was a 14-year-old violinist who was forced to play music for the Nazi soldiers who marched his family to their death in the gas chambers. His father later found safety in New York City, yet named his Jewish child "Christoper Joseph" to protect him from another Holocaust.

Thus begins the story of Chris Aubert, a successful lawyer, husband, father of five, and exceptional speaker who courageously shares a compelling, tragic, yet enlightening story of his participation during his twenties in what would later haunt him as his own holocaust experience: the abortion-induced death of two of his own unborn children.

Subject: Historic vote in Congress … much work to be done

The United States Congress is currently on its summer break. It will return the first week of September. During this time, most members of congress spend time in their home districts and are anxious to hear from constituents on what concerns them. This is a great opportunity for you to let them know that you do not want any taxpayer money going to Planned Parenthood.

The top federal programs funding Planned Parenthood are

  Planned Parenthood funding vote

A few weeks ago we told you of an amendment to the Labor, Health and Human Services appropriation bill that specifically called for Planned Parenthood to receive zero dollars from Title X of that bill. This was a historic vote as it was the first time in history congress was asked to vote up or down on the specific question of funding of Planned Parenthood. We are sorry to report that the amendment failed by a vote of 189-231.

While the amendment didn’t pass, it was actually an encouragement that it received 45 percent of the vote and, if 21 representatives had changed their votes, the amendment would have passed. It is important that you talk to your representative about this vote and let them know your position. Thank them if they voted in favor of the amendment and encourage them to reconsider if they voted against it.

Planned Parenthood scoring victories in Congress

The makeup of the new Congress that took office in January, 2007 is favorable to Planned Parenthood and it is pulling out all the stops to translate that into more money in its bank accounts.

Planned Parenthood itself lists many major victories over the last few months. These include:

What you can do

Although Planned Parenthood is gaining many victories, it is still possible to put on the brakes. The measures above passed the House of Representatives, but most have not passed in the Senate. Your representatives and senators need to hear from you in the next few weeks.

Tell them plainly that you do not want any money going to Planned Parenthood. You can mention the above items as examples of the kind of funding you do not want Planned Parenthood to get.

It is extremely important that your elected officials know you do not want any money going to Planned Parenthood under any bill at any time. With constant pressure, we can stop the taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood.

Sincerely yours in the Lord Who IS Life,

Should YOU be forced to underwrite Planned Parenthood with your tax dollars?

·         Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion chain in America and has killed more than 3 million innocent children at its facilities

·         Planned Parenthood's top goal for the next 25 years is to push its agenda of promiscuous sex everywhere in our society

·         Planned Parenthood puts minors on birth control without parents' knowledge or involvement

·         Planned Parenthood has demonstrated a willingness to cover up for rapists and child predators

·         Planned Parenthood pushes pornography onto children with shocking and offensive websites, books, and literature

·         Planned Parenthood is openly hostile to Christianity, and regularly mocks people of faith

·         Planned Parenthood hurts women with misleading and dishonest medical information

·         And Planned Parenthood does all of this with over $305.3 million dollars a year of your tax money

Millions of Americans are fed up with this insanity! Take a stand and tell your elected officials that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! We, the undersigned, ask all elected officials to ensure that Planned Parenthood receives absolutely no taxpayer dollars.

 The Great Pretenders

by Robert Ringer

There was quite a hubbub made over the recent passing of the "godfather of soul," James Brown, whose claim to fame was his screaming and jumping around on stage as though he were imitating a pelican on methadone. Even Michael Jackson credited him with his being where he is today. Hmmm … best we skip over that one.

The media, of course, was all aglow with reverent remarks about Brown, talking about him as though he had been a musical genius and a wonderful role model. None other than conservative "Fox & Friends" pointed out that Brown was credited with "inspiring rap, hip-hop and funk." Boy, wouldn't your mom have been proud of you if you had inspired rap, hip-hop and funk?

All this media gushing brought back memories of the Platters' monster 1950s classic "The Great Pretender," because the Western world has, in fact, become the land of The Great Pretenders. As a result of white guilt (see my Oct. 26, 2006 article, "Condi's 'white guilt'") coupled with gradualism, we have willingly become participants in a civilization-ending game known as "Let's Pretend."

In his book "The Master Game," Robert DeRopp expresses his belief that man inhabits a world of delusions, which obscures reality and creates dangers for himself and others. He rarely understands what he is doing or why he is doing it. His actions and beliefs indicate that he lives in a state of waking dreams. As a result, people willingly join the ranks of The Great Pretenders.

The sad truth is that we have been lobotomized by our schools, our government and the media – which is why we give in to perversion and insanity without even putting up a fight. Get out of line and start babbling about Western virtues, and you risk being reviled by friends and foes alike.

As The Great Pretenders, our willingness to play Let's Pretend knows no bounds …

Oh – and by the way – when The Platters recorded their blockbuster hit back in the '50s, it's interesting to note that the fourth verse of their classic began with, "Oh, yes, I'm the great pretender … just laughing and gay like a clown." Gay like a clown? Could the world have changed so much over the past 50 years that "gay like a clown" meant something totally different then than it does today? Well, what the heck, in today's anything-goes Western world, it's no problem for us to pretend like a gay clown is perfectly acceptable as well.

The late Andrew Galambos, the free-market cult figure whom Harry Browne dubbed "the unknown libertarian," was purported to have taught those who attended his lectures that almost everything everybody believes is wrong. And when we observe what passes for reality in today's let's-pretend world, his observation doesn't seem that farfetched.

When aliens examine the ruins of Western civilization a thousand years from now, they will almost certainly come to the conclusion that its demise was brought about by the evolution of the civilized Western Homo sapiens into a mushy species known as The Great Pretenders.

In unison now, let's hear it: War is peace; freedom is slavery; ignorance is strength.  -- Robert Ringer

My response to that act of hate is to respond in love. Hoping to save others from the pains I have faced and save babies' lives. I am seeking a National Baby Shower in the United States to collect good used baby items and new baby items, so lack of baby items will never be a valid excuse for abortion.

On The Wire...  We're not in Kansas anymore, Toto! Common sense does not seem to apply here. Well, death-mongering rapist defenders may be pushing all the cash-buttons... buying their way, but will they be calling the shots in the end, or will the law prevail? Phill Kline is walking tall.

Abortion Laws Take 2nd Place to Dollar Signs
Prosecutor says pregnant 10-year-old failed to trigger assault investigation

By Bob Unruh © 2006 WorldNetDaily.com

Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline believes that it is his job to see that the laws are followed, but he ran into a brick wall when he concluded the laws that apply to the abortion industry, such as reporting an assault when a 10-year-old has an abortion, ALSO must be upheld.

He soon found out why: hundreds of millions of dollars that American taxpayers each year turn over to Planned Parenthood, a leading provider in the abortion industry. So now he's working on taking that wall down, one brick at a time. He told WND in an exclusive interview that he's not giving up, and he'll win because the law is on his side. "We've got them on the hill they will die on," he told WND in an interview. "They are defending abortion clinics as safe havens for child rapists."

When he was elected in 2002, he noticed a peculiarity of laws in most states and jurisdictions. "Nobody has been willing to enforce the abortion laws against Planned Parenthood," he said. And some of the situations just screamed for attention. For example, when there are abortions performed on underage children, by law and by definition there has been a sexual assault on a child. In Kansas a person under 16 legally cannot consent to sex, and abortions cannot be performed past 22 weeks. However, those cases simply weren't being reported, he said. He started working, watching the situation, developing evidence, and assembling arguments. Soon he found that, just like in many other cases ranging from assault to homicide, he needed the medical records to pursue his investigation.

In court, he sought the redacted clinic records from 90 abortion cases across the state. It was as if the world fell in and he discovered the reason why the opposition to his work was so fierce. Under federal rules, the abortion industry leader must follow state laws regarding abortion, notification and other issues if it is to get tax money each year from American citizens – an estimated $227 million this year alone, Kline said. So any prosecutor who is looking into situations that potentially could have legal implications, such as late-term abortions that don't meet the specified state guidelines, or those abortions administered on underage girls where no assault report is filed, the industry's reaction is going to be serious because of the potential threat to the cash flow. In Kline's case he was opposed for his views on abortion during his first campaign, attacked when he started his work in office, and still is being attacked as he's seeking re-election in a few weeks. His opponent is Johnson County District Attorney Paul Morrison, who is trailing Kline by a few points in many polls to date.

The match up has Kline highlighting Morrison's authorship (of) a bill that shortened paroles and released prison inmates early, and citing a Kansas Department of Corrections memo explaining that the bill allowed 800 criminals to be released early and thousands more have their paroles shortened. More than 1,500 have since revisited Kansas' court system, "and those are just the ones we caught," Kline said. Morrison, meanwhile, portrays Kline as someone who wants to invade women's privacy by seeking medical records from abortionists.

Absolutely true that he wanted medical records, Kline told WND. Absolutely false that he was seeking medical records that are identifiable to a particular individual. He said he just wants records that can be inspected to determine whether a "medical provider" at an abortion clinic is, in fact, following the state's various laws, just like many other cases. He recognizes the reason for the opposition. He noted that Planned Parenthood at one point listed him among the group's "domestic terrorists" list because of his work. "They want my scalp," he told WND. "(They want to say) this used to be an attorney general, so any of you AG's thinking about enforcing the law, this is what will happen to you."

An Ohio woman, Jennifer Jiroux, who works with Citizens for Community Values, told WND the nation needs more prosecutors like Kline. She cited as an example a recent case in which a 12-year-old was taken to an abortion clinic after an assault by a soccer coach, an assault that wasn’t uncovered until some teachers overheard school children teasing the 12-year-old. Where are those individuals who are supposed to report sexual assaults on children? she wondered. Kline said one other AG, Steve Carter of Indiana, also is filing charges for such cases, and others are watching closely.

How Kline got the steamroller going was simple in Kansas. It's a commonly used procedure in which prosecutors have a proceeding in front of a judge, and the judge reviews evidence and can issue search warrants or compel witnesses to appear. In the case involving 90 abortions -- for which Kline most commonly is vilified -- he did just that, and the judge, Richard Anderson, found probable cause to suspect that there had been child rape, the failure to report child rape, possible criminal late-term and partial-birth abortions, and other counts. "I never sought the identity of the women," Kline said. "The judge had agreed to a request to redact their names when the medical records were provided." One situation involved a 10-year-old who had an abortion. State records confirmed she was nine when she was assaulted. Records also show that in 2003 alone, 78 girls under the age of 15 had abortions in Kansas. By law, that amounts to 78 cases of sexual assault on a child. Anderson's conclusion to Kline's records request was that, "Without access to the medical records, how is the attorney general going to make a reasonably informed judgment as to whether the records do or do not contain evidence of a crime?" But abortion industry interests then, he said, "came loaded for bear." That industry, he said, immediately following Anderson's ruling filed a mandamus action with the state Supreme Court, essentially arguing that somebody wasn't doing their constitutional duty. "The whole thing is private thus far," Kline said. "I don't announce investigations."

However, the clinics made a motion with the court to make the investigation public and asked permission to contact "patients." "We filed a motion objecting, as harmful to the investigation. Plus when you've got a 10-year-old who had a late-term abortion and nobody called the cops… Who do you think they're going to call (when they call 'patients') but the rapist?" The Supreme Court granted that motion, and the clinics held a news conference to condemn Kline for seeking "full unredacted medical histories" of 90 adult women and children. "At the same time," Kline said, "their website (one of the clinics involved) had a privacy policy in which they reserved the right to give names, addresses, phone numbers and the date of the abortion to political fundraisers." "What they were denying us under the law they were giving to PACs," Kline said.

The ultimate result of the appeals process affirmed Kline's request, and there have been a number of convictions as a result. "Now we've had cases referred out on child rape. We've actually had a prosecution and a conviction," Kline said. In one Wichita, Kan., case one defendant pleaded guilty to five counts of raping his stepdaughters. The case involved four pregnancies and several abortions, but no one had called police, Kline said, until one of the babies was born, and the adoption agency that the family approached "saw through the ruse." Six different counties in Kansas have been able to prosecute – so far – as a result of Kline's work. Kline said besides the direct opposition to his efforts, another side is the financial support given to anyone who opposes him. In the last election, a donation of $300,000 was given, reportedly originally from an abortionist, to a PAC just nine days before the election.

Kline said that avoided the state requirement that PAC reports must be filed within 10 days. The money was used for a massive radio campaign criticizing Kline, he said. Flip Benham, of Operation Save America, noted that Kansas' most famous abortionist, George Tiller of Wichita is famous for his late-term abortion services, and he compared Tiller to another Wichita man, Dennis Rader. Rader was convicted of being the BTK (bind, torture, kill) killer who was arrested years after he killed a number of people. Benham said neither respects any life but their own, and they both like to operate behind walls of secrecy. He also noted both are members in good standing in their respective churches. "Unfortunately for the citizens in the city of Wichita and all of us in America, both men are inhabited by the same spirit of murder. This spirit, once unleashed … knows no bounds and only increases in ferocity," Benham wrote.

One supporter of the organization noted that Kansas current governor, Kathleen Sebelius, "is pro abortion to the max and has done everything she can, including stripping funds from the A.G. office to a minimum, to deem him ineffective." The clinics denied any wrongdoing. "Our clients have followed the law and will continue to do so," lawyer Lee Thompson wrote. Kline also has sued officials in his own state – at the direction of the state Legislature – to stop state funding of abortions. Elmer Feldkamp of Bailey Ville, president of Right to Life of Kansas, said it is an attempt to substantiate that human life begins at conception. But abortion promoters even were critical of Kline's decision to follow the orders from the state House. "He continues to use his office to push extreme ideologies on the state of Kansas," Traci Gleason, spokeswoman for Planned Parenthood of Kansas, said at the time. --Bob Unruh

In The Mailbag...  Look and listen, America! This is one "Joe" who is really up and running. Joe Schriner, America's best kept non-secret and trooper on the front-lines of truth, is running grassroots and wide-open for the betterment of this great nation and it's people. Having campaigned for our nations highest office in 2000, and 2004, he has once again tossed his hat in the race for the Presidency in 2008. Win or lose, one cannot go wrong when they choose to campaign for life, honesty and integrity... three important values, when one considers stepping up to leadership. We will be hearing more about Joe, and his campaign efforts, over the course of time. Give him all possible support.

An Average, Pro-Life "Joe" for President ?  Why Not?

My name is Joe Schriner (which, given the title of this site, is apparently a plus).  I am running for president for Campaign 2008 as an independent candidate with a Consistent Life Ethic.  I also ran for president during Campaigns 2000 and 2004.  My wife and I have given up our professions, and with our three children, we have traveled 80,000 miles campaigning in the past seven years -- standing up for Life at every turn.  We have stood in solidarity with people protesting and praying in front of abortion clinics all over the country.  We have, at length, researched programs to help mothers (and fathers) in crisis pregnancy.  Our story has appeared in more than 1,000 newspapers across the country, (and on) much radio and TV.  And whenever possible, we talk with passion about our Pro-Life stance.  We are living in a modern day Holocaust that has to end.  For more on our campaign, see: www.voteforjoe.com and click on Life Issues.
